Biography
Liam Boisset is the Principal Oboist of the American Ballet Theater orchestra. In addition to the Ballet, he has been an Associate Musician with the Metropolitan Opera since 2019, regularly performing in various roles throughout the section. Over the course of his career, he has performed as guest Principal Oboe with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, and in supporting roles with the New York Philharmonic, the San Francisco Symphony, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra in Washington, DC, and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. He can be heard playing both oboe and English horn in The Witcher and Sirens of the Deep on Netflix.
In addition to his fruitful performance career, Mr. Boisset is a passionate educator and has served on the faculties of Princeton University and the Aspen Music Festival and School. In addition to his faculty positions, he has taught guest masterclasses and lessons at The Juilliard School, Mannes School of Music at The New School, San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and Oberlin Conservatory. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he co-founded the online teaching platform, Aperto Oboe Academy, with his close friend and colleague, Brooks Fisher, to connect with and mentor promising young oboists from around the globe.
